Quick update… (only makes sense to update since I posted about going to the ER)

I am not oblivious to the lack in awareness that is desperately needed for Sickle Cell Disease, but I was faced with another realization from the conversation this article started, and that was the lack of understanding of the severity the disease has. When people think sickle cell disease, they automatically attach some range of severity to people living with the disease, but none to people with the sickle cell trait.
I am back. Back to winter, back to snowstorms, back to brisk cold (sigh).
I am not made for this lifestyle. No ma’am. I believe the time to start brainstorming, I need to move! (burr)
Actually, I’ve been back for some time now but just have not been up to writing, working, or stepping outside at all … as much as I want to blame the weather (as it surely plays a role in my antisocial/hibernating tendencies), this time it’s my body, it is fighting me y’all lol. (more…)
Hi y’all… still reporting from the waterfront of Lagos Island, the weather is ummm humid, I can’t complain though. I love the fact that I can wear t-shirts and maxi-dresses, that’s a staple fashion of mine these days and I can most definitely get use to it (don’t mind if I do). I’ve met some cool people sha, and others are still hiding from me, they know themselves. (more…)
Winter is around the corner, yes people it is STILL Fall. Yes, yes, I know it’s cold as heck and snowing like nobody’s business… wait is that only New England? Oh. But it’s true, Winter doesn’t officially starts till Dec 21st.
Anyhoo, I thought to share how I keep the skin feeling hydrated AND keep the pain at bay (aside medication of course, not a fan of medications). (more…)
